Five Years Home

ON FRIDAY, SEPT. 30, the dental college celebrated its official name change to The Dental College of Georgia and the fifth anniversary in its new building. During the prior week, the old GRU signage came down and was replaced by a large, temporary banner featuring the new branded logo. At a lunchtime event, staff and students enjoyed a boxed lunch and a brief presentation by Dean Carol Lefebvre and Augusta University President Brooks Keel celebrating the anniversary milestone. At an evening event for faculty, residents and alumni, Provost Gretchen Caughman and DCG alum Dr. Ben Jernigan Jr., president of the Georgia Dental Association, joined Dean Lefebvre for celebratory comments. The GDA also provided financial support for the event. Guests enjoyed casino-like games, appetizers and a jazz trio.
