In honor of National Doctor’s Day

From the President, MCG Alumni Association

In honor of today, National Doctor’s Day, we pause to recognize and express appreciation to our Medical College of Georgia alumni.

We all have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We know these are challenging times and we are proud of the many stories that we have heard of the tireless efforts expended by our physicians in response to this insidious virus.

Please know that your alma mater, the Medical College of Georgia, has stepped up in unprecedented ways to address this crisis. Our efforts to provide pre-screening, testing, and treatment to citizens throughout the state of Georgia and some parts of South Carolina have had a tremendous positive impact on addressing this crisis.

Since 1828, we have been forerunners in medical research, education and practice. And we continue that tradition in 2020. A Pandemic Medicine Elective, the first in the nation, is being established for our students. And we are partnering with Georgia State University on three research projects to address COVID-19 specifically. These are just a few of the ways we are being leaders in the medical profession.

We hope that you are proud of your alma mater, as we are of each of you. Thank you for all that you do in your respective communities and beyond.

Best Regards,

Lynne Brannen, M.D.
