Virtual Day of Service
JagNation didn’t let a global pandemic stop it from giving back to the local community. More than 1,200 students, employees and family members participated in a Virtual Days of Service event. That’s 200 service teams working on 51 projects for 25 community nonprofit organizations.

Holiday Gala Concert
In an exciting but challenging year that saw the completion of the $3.5 million renovation of the Fine Arts Center, the Department of Music celebrated its supporters by putting on a virtual holiday gala concert. The 35-minute video featured performances by students and faculty.

Weeks of Welcome
Though the Spring 2021 semester could hardly be called normal, students were nevertheless welcomed back to campus with a series of safe but fun events to kick off the new semester.

Fall Commencement
On Friday, Dec. 11, an in-person graduation without guests was held at the James Brown Arena. To maintain social distancing, three separate ceremonies were held throughout the day.

Vaccine Distribution
On Dec. 17, Augusta University Health received its first 975 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and administered the initial doses to 10 caregivers at a press conference in the lobby of Professional Building 1. By March, AU Health had vaccinated nearly 19,000 people.

Homecoming
Unified by the theme The Take Off, Homecoming 2021 featured traditional events like the Homecoming court elections and the Wear Blue Get Food event at the amphitheater as well as more decidedly topical events like a COVID-19 vaccine discussion.
