On Dec. 17, Augusta University Health received its first 975 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and administered the initial doses to 10 caregivers at a press conference in the lobby of Professional Building 1. By March, AU Health had vaccinated nearly 19,000 people.
Unified by the theme The Take Off, Homecoming 2021 featured traditional events like the Homecoming court elections and the Wear Blue Get Food event at the amphitheater as well as more decidedly topical events like a COVID-19 vaccine discussion.
