AU Surgery Center Ribbon Cutting
A ribbon cutting and open house for the long-awaited surgery center in the DCG building held Oct. 25 celebrated the ability to offer general anesthesia procedures in an ambulatory surgery setting. Dental and oral-facial surgeries are now routinely performed in the new surgery center.

Give Kids a Smile
Pediatric dentistry, dental hygiene and the Augusta Richmond County affiliate of the national organization Communities in Schools collaborated to provide dental care to 121 Richmond County elementary school students Feb. 7. They treated 37 restorative patients and provided cleanings, fluoride treatments and sealants to the others.

DCG Research and Table Clinic Day
Research posters from DCG students, faculty and residents filled the J. Harold Harrison, MD Education Commons Feb. 13. Augusta University dental hygiene students and residents in the U.S Army Advanced Education Program in Periodontics also participated. Dr. Thomas R. McDonald (’83) discussed finding your niche in dentistry as the guest speaker of the Fifth Annual David Pashley Lectureship.

ASDA Talent Show
Students and faculty took to the stage at the annual talent show, sponsored by Pacific Dental, with music, comedy and door prizes.

DCG March Madness
Basketball fever overtook DCG staff as they celebrated a new staff engagement event, March Madness, by shooting hoops with the Augusta University men’s basketball team, taking photos with the mascot, Augustus, and enjoying chips and dip.
