Prestigious NSA recognition for cyber security

In March 2017, School of Computer and Cyber Sciences and Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences professor Dr. John “Jay” Heslen received a $284,434 grant as part of the National Security Agency’s CyberSecurity Core Curriculum Development program.



Psychology professor named CURS director

Dr. Quentin Davis, assistant chair of Augusta University’s Department of Psychological Sciences, was named the university’s Director of the Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (CURS), effective Jan. 1, 2019.



Forbes: AU ‘Top 10 Low-Profile, High-Value College’

Augusta University was named a “Top 10 Low-Profile, High-Value College” by Forbes magazine contributor John Wasik, who reviewed an extensive list of rankings by Washington Monthly and narrowed them down to a top 10 list of high-value schools that students should consider.



New Vice President for Development named 

Deborah Stafford Vaughn, an executive with more than 21 years of development experience in higher education, was named Vice President for Development at Augusta University, effective Oct. 22, 2018.



Sand Hills Writers Series welcomes award-winning writers

The Sand Hills Writers Series returned to Augusta University on Monday, Oct. 15, with public readings from visiting writers Vievee Francis (Forest Primeval, Horse in the Dark, Blue-Tail Fly) and Holly Goddard Jones (The Salt Line, The Next Time You See Me).



New website for College’s move to Health Sciences Campus

In 2016, Augusta University announced that the College of Science and Mathematics would move from the Summerville Campus to the Health Sciences Campus to further the institution’s growth and maturity.
